Twelve Defendants, Beside City Council Who Are They?
We are trying to get more information. There are seven council members, so the five other named defendants could be agents of the city such as investigator Patrick Franklin. Any additional information would be appreciated. Mr. Landen resigned in 2010 after private messages were released to the media by an unknown (to date) source. NBC6 and the South Florida Times both were given the leaked messages.

While looking into this story the United States Supreme Court issued an opinion in which it affirmed that in a supervisory capacity an employer can inspect messages on a company/entity owned device and issue disciplinary actions based upon those messages. The issue of releasing those messages into the public is another matter entirely. The public records laws only support release of information related to content on government owned devices that relates to the conducting of that agencies business.
