So How Did Rosemary Fuller and Pat Mellerson Fare After Creating Confederate Flag Controversy?
Posted on 20:22 by Unknown
After all of the celebrations and nonsensical awards these two shared from the Community including media interviews, orchids being named for Ms. Fuller, featured at meetings and plenty of photo-ops, we did a little checking, do you want to know what we found?
Funny you should ask, Fuller was caught with two Homestead Exemptions and had the Homestead Exemption lien placed on her for several thousand dollars and had one of the exemptions stricken from her property. Here is what he Miami Dade County response on Fuller was: I can tell you gladly that they were caught. The exemption was removed from Rosemary Fuller’s property in 2011 and a lien for $7914.18 was placed and they did pay it.
Mellerson and a building she owned on Washington Avenue was foreclosed upon after several years of not paying the property '07-'09 taxes for the building as well as the principal and interest on the note.
These are the two ringleaders of what many still think was the made-up Confederate Flag nonsense of 2009 that Steve Bateman, Judy Waldman, Jimmie Williams, Jeff Porter, Bob Epling and Mike Marcus embraced. In 2009 the Military Affairs Committee canceled the Veteran's Day Parade, thanks to these two creating an issue where there was none. Then when you add in Jeff Porter putting the Homestead City Council behind the Stars and Bars when lining up the participants in 2008 history was made.

Yes, We Certainly Don't Want Anyone Pulling Anything In Homestead
Mellerson and Fuller said they accomplished their goal, but will continue monitoring the parade and other public events to make sure the ban is not lifted.
“We made sure we stayed until the end of the parade, to make sure no one would try to pull anything, and this is what we will do throughout the year,” Mellerson said.
