Where Is Everyone? Only Two Local Voices Heard On Migrant Beatings!

Some Garza History: http://homesteadishome.blogspot.com/2009/05/human-relations-board-embraced-and.html
Nothing but silence from the Homestead/Florida City Human Relations Board, the Mexican American Council, the Garzas, the Berrones Family, the Homestead City Council, the Miami Dade County Commission, Congressional Representatives Ros-Lehtinen and Rivera, Senators Nelson and Rubio State Reps. Ron Saunders and Frank Artiles, State Sen. Larcenia Bullard have you nothing to say?
Eddie Berrones (above) runs Le Jardin in Homestead and used to be a Homestead Councilman before moving to Pinecrest, why is he silent?
Maybe you are all enjoying the holiday, anyway when people are pepper sprayed, kicked in the head, dragged down a sidewalk, permanently disfigured and handcuffed to a fence we assumed you might have showed some interest. Maybe because those victims are not registered voters or you used to live in Homestead you thought why get involved?
See you during election season, when you tell the community who to vote for, thanks for caring.
The word of the day is Disgraceful!
For Martha Torres, who works with the Miami-Dade Title I Migrant Program, the incidents that took place saddened her, but said she supports the Homestead Police Department.
“This is unfortunate, but we fully support the police department,” Torres said. “We want the community to know if there are anymore victims they can come to the department.”
Jonathan Fried, Director of WeCount a local organization that works with immigrants, echoed Torres’ sentiments.
“We commend the Homestead Police Department because their investigation led to the arrests,” Fried said. “We know the police department has made a good faith effort to investigate the abuses.”
