Kids’ Activities (Tropical Fruit Pavilion)

All Weekend
Enjoy special hands-on and culinary kids' activities including kids' cooking demonstrations and kitchen botany.

Kitchen Botany
All weekend
When you eat celery, broccoli, or asparagus, what part of the plant are you eating? The leaves, flowers, or roots?

Join us at KidWay where using hand lenses and microscopes, children examine fruits and vegetables to discover the intricacies within. Children will identify the part of the flower that develops into fruit and the role that pollinators and seed dispersal play in this process. Children can then make a "peanut seed baby" to take home and see the germination process in front of their eyes.

Saturday only
11:30 a.m. What's the Buzz?
What's the Buzz? is an upbeat, informative presentation that provides insight into the world of the honeybee! We'll have a luscious, lip-smacking honey tasting, and kids will get to make a honeycomb candle to take home.

Sunday only
11:30 a.m. Building a Worm Bin
Kids will enjoy a special interactive demonstration by the Fertile Earth Foundation.
